Bradley “Brad” Bettencourt- 81
Of Valdosta, Georgia passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at The Orchard. He was born to the late Helen Colbert Louis and Bradley Eugene Bettencourt on June 10, 1943, in Oakland, California. Brad was an adventurous spirit with a wide range of interests and a passion for the outdoors. Although he worked as a helicopter mechanic in the USMC, his true essence went beyond the confines of his job, which was a High School and Middle School Psychologist. He was always up for an adrenaline rush, whether it was through hiking, kayaking, canoeing, or cruising. Brad also had a creative side as a musician, and he often sang in the choir (St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Manteca California). Camping was one of his favorite pastimes, and he treasured the time spent in nature, often accompanied by his loyal dog. Brad's zest for life made him the kind of person who was always seeking the next adventure, yet he also had a dominant presence, grounding those around him with his genuine warmth and enthusiasm. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his dog (Bella) and his devoted wife of 36 years, Nancy Bettencourt of Valdosta, Georgia; daughter, Andrea Robertson (Joseph) of Valencia, California; 3 grandchildren: Kendall Robertson, Taylor Robertson, Dean Robertson, nieces and nephews: Rebecca Eggers (Aaron) of San Antonio, Texas, Cannon Eggers, Matthew Eggers, GraceAnn Eggers, Joe Eggers all of San Antonio, Texas, best friend, Jova Garcia of Stockton, California.
