Brenda Jean Mullis

Brenda Jean Mullis, age 74, of Lakeland, Georgia, passed away the evening of Wednesday, September 30, 2026. She was born to loving parents Robert Mathis and Quida Fay Roland in Nashville, GA on February 28, 1952.

She was a dedicated secretary for Farm Bureau for many years. Brenda also held a contractor license and built houses with her late husband, Dewitt Mullis.

She is preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Dewitt Mullis; brother, Robert Wade Mathis; nieces and nephews, Brenda Ledbetter, Danya Ledbetter and Donald Stone.

Brenda is survived by her son, John and Rhonda Newbern; grandchild, Montana Harrell; great grandchild, Jersee Lee Rose; sisters Vivian Ledbetter and Mary Joyce Bryant; brother in law, Dwayne Mullis and sister in law, Cheryl Corbett; nieces and nephews: Chelsey Mathis, Dana Gail, Tracy Livingston and Eddie Ledbetter; great nieces and nephew: Mason Ledbetter, Jayda Glade and Jaden Glade, Dunken Abell, Lance Bradford, Bubba Smith, Brittney and Mcaide Ledbetter.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00PM, Wednesday, October 7, 2026, in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services. The family will receive friends one hour prior.
