Brenda Diane Spell, 71, of Lake Park, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, August 21, 2025.
Born on December 16, 1953, in Valdosta, Georgia, Brenda was the beloved daughter of the late Wallace Julian Dickerson and Gertrude Davis Dickerson.
Brenda dedicated many years of her life to working with Winn-Dixie as a Floral Manager, where her talent for crafting beautiful arrangements was admired by many. Her creativity and attention to detail brought joy to countless customers and friends. A gifted cook, Brenda found joy in preparing meals for her loved ones. Whether it was a holiday feast or a simple family dinner, her kitchen was always a place of warmth and togetherness. She loved the outdoors, especially fishing trips on the river with her boys, those moments were among her most cherished.
Above all, Brenda’s heart belonged to her family. She adored her children and grandchildren, and spending time with them brought her immeasurable happiness. Brenda was known for her kindness and generosity. She never hesitated to help anyone in need, offering support or a warm meal.
For the past 22 years, Brenda was a devoted and loving wife to her husband, William, caring for him with strength and compassion.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers: Larry Dickerson and Ronnie Dickerson.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, William Spell, Sr. of Lake Park, Georgia; children: William “Buddy” Spell, Jr. and his wife, Stacy of Lakeland, Georgia, Tina Brown and her husband, Steve of Lake Park, Georgia, Michael Spell of Clyattville, Georgia, James Mark Spell and his wife, Mandi of Lake Park, Georgia; grandchildren: Sandy Dickerson, Candy Fullmoore, Justina Singletary, Dalton Brown, Summer Finney, Dylan Brown, Casi Griffin, Ashley Bennett, Michael Brian Spell, Jr., Aubrey Spell, Aaron Spell and Amber Spell; great grandchildren: 19; siblings: Eddie Dickerson of Valdosta, Georgia, Kenny Dickerson of Augusta, Georgia and Sandra Santana of Statenville, Georgia; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 25, 2025, in the Chapel of Music Funeral Services, Valdosta with burial to follow in Friendship Cemetery, Hahira.
