Bryan “Salty” Stickland – 67
Of Hahira, Georgia passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at his residence. He was born on August 9, 1958, to the late Jean J Melton and A.J. “Bubba” Strickland III in Valdosta, Georgia. Bryan graduated from Valdosta High School in 1977 and went on to Graduate from Valdosta Tech/Valdosta State College earning an Associate of Applied Science Degree with an emphasis on Electronics and Technology. While attending Valdosta Tech he was voted the National President for VICA Postsecondary Division, (Skills USA). He was also second in the Nation for extemporaneous speaking during his VICA career. He used his degree for his entire work career working in commercial and residential alarm systems and banking equipment. Bryan had gift for fixing anything and was always ready to lend a helping hand. Some of his favorite moments were spending time on his back porch. His favorite thing to do was spending time with his family, especially all his grandchildren and his animals.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Janet Strickland of Hahira, Georgia; son, Joshua Strickland (Heather Jackson) of Fayetteville, North Carolina; stepdaughter, Katie Brown (Eric) of Alpharetta, Georgia; stepson, Chris Spurlock of Valdosta, Georgia; stepmother, Jeanette Strickland, Valdosta, Georgia.
grandchildren: Katelyn Lewis (Matt) of Hahira, Georgia; Shelby Grove (Jacob) of Charleston, South Carolina; Hailey Strickland of Athens, Georgia; Loden Wade of Steinhatchee, Florida; Jack Brown of Alpharetta, Georgia; Sam Brown of Alpharetta, Georgia, and Tucker Spurlock of Valdosta, Georgia. great grandchildren: Hudson and Olivia Lewis of Hahira, Georgia.
Brothers; Allan Strickland IV (Kim) of Valdosta, Georgia and Jordan Strickland (Diana) of Royal Palm Beach, Florida; sisters: Kathy Smith (Allen) of Clayton, North Carolina; Claire Strickland of Valdosta, Georgia; Kellie McTier (Tom) of Valdosta, Georgia and Julie Lovein (Dan) of St Simons, Georgia; brothers in law: Donald Schmidt of Bloomington Minnesota; Steven Schmidt (Karen) of Lake Park, Georgia; David Schmidt (Penelope) of Hahira, Georgia;
