Buddy Phillips, age 74
Of Hahira, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, Georgia. He was born on June 27, 1950, in Brunswick, Georgia, to the late Alza Lanier Phillips Sr. and Alice (Lee) Phillips. Buddy was a man of unwavering faith, dedicated to guiding others toward a life-changing knowledge of salvation through Jesus Christ. He had a passion for the outdoors, which included hunting and shooting sports. He loved his German Shorthaired Pointers and enjoyed raising and training them. Pheasant hunting was one of his favorite pastimes. He was a Master Mason and a longtime member of Ocean Lodge #214 in Brunswick, Georgia. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Alicia Wilson, and his brother, Mike Phillips. Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Sheri Phillips, of Hahira, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Corey Phillips (Sue Lynn) of Springfield, Georgia; daughter and fiancé, Jeannie Phillips (Chad Dixon) of Hortense, Georgia; step-daughter and son-in-law, Nadia Brewer (Erik) of Jacksonville, North Carolina; step-son, Liam Vining of Tacoma, Washington; grandchildren, Katie Phillips, Cody Phillips, Luke Burns, and Emilie Brewer; sister, Alice Faye Godfrey of Hortense, Georgia; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Bay Harbour Church of God in Brunswick, Georgia, with Pastor Mark Griner officiating.
