Calvin Alton Rozier, 68
Of Valdosta passed away Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2008, in Tattnall Community Hospital. He was born on April 14, 1940, in Washington County, Ga., to the late Carlos B. and Ethel Nichols Rozier. Mr. Rozier retired from Lowndes County Public Works. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Sonia Gayle Rozier, Valdosta; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Michael Sager, Jacksonville, Fla.; granddaughter, Shasta Monique Rozier, Valdosta; brother, Willis Rozier, Milledgeville, Ga.; sisters, Katherine Ramaje, Milledgeville, Ga., Betty Rozier, Cartersville, Ga., Nola Mae Kent, Mich.; sister-in-law, Verna Looney, Valdosta; brother-in-law, Robert E. Bennett, Valdosta; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, M.A. and Judy Scurrey, Valdosta; nieces, Shannon and Michael Hicks, Valdosta, Tammy and Charles Highsmith; several great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews known as "Papa" to them.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, in Wayfare Cemetery in Echols County, Ga. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. at Shannon Hicks home, 2025 Oak Dale Circle, Valdosta, GA. 31601.
