Candace Reath Crosby- Age 79, of Quitman, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at her beloved home, surrounded by those she loved. She was born on July 18, 1945, to the late Daniel Webster Young Sr. and Adlelee (Allen) Young.
Candace was a simple woman, known for her love of jewelry, always wearing her rings. She enjoyed the thrill of bowling, and whether it was a casual outing with family or a friendly competition, she was always the one who came out victorious. She loved eating out especially when she was able to order fried catfish.
Candace had a deep affection for animals and loved her dog, Boo. She found joy in nurturing her flowers, tending to them with the same love and care she gave to all things. She loved her family and always enjoyed spending time with them.
Candace is preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Doris Ann Campbell; her son, Daniel Lawson Campbell; and her brother, Daniel “Dan” Webster Young Jr.
Survivors include her sister, Joyce Griner of Quitman, Georgia; brother, Bill Young (Ann) of Valdosta, Georgia; sister, Judy Tucker of Lake Park, Georgia; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 14, 2025, in the chapel of Music Funeral Services, Valdosta with burial to follow in Wayfare Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Friday, March 14, 2024, at the funeral home.
