Captain Sam Temples – 55
Of Valdosta, Ga passed away Sunday, February 16, 2014 after a sudden illness. He was born on August 13, 1958 in Macon, GA to the late Philip P.O. and Marjorie Smith Temples. Captain Temples has been employed with the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office since 1978. He worked in various departments with the sheriff's office through out his 36 year career. Most recently he served as Captain of Special Operations to include: Training, DARE, School Resource Officers, Reserve Officers, Narcotics and the Dive Team. He loved to fish with his buddies and most especially with his daughter, Kellie.
His survivors include, Wife of 21 years, Susan Temples of Valdosta, GA; Daughter, Kellie Temples of Valdosta, GA; Brother & Sister-in-Law, Seab & Pamela Temples of Valdosta, GA;
Father-in-law& Mother-in-Law, Bobby C. & Kathleen Moore of Hahira, GA; Brother-in-Law, Ferrell & Erika Moore of Valdosta, GA; Sister-in-Law, Kay & Tony Morris of Lake Park, GA;
Sister-in-Law, Sid & C.H. Hobrat of Hahira, GA; Sister-in-Law, Kay Simpson of Valdosta, GA;
Nephews, Zachary & Tyler Temples, Justin & Jason Fost, Stephen Moore; Nieces, Katie & Megan Temples, Alex & Shelly Hobrat, Paige Ortlieb; Special Cousins, David & Sharon Noel of Rabun Gap, GA, Captain Carl & Laura Smith of Valdosta, GA; Aunt, Billie Sims; and many special friends and his Lowndes County Sheriff's Office Family.
As per his wishes he will be cremated and no formal services will be held. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at the funeral home.
