Carl Bolling

Carl Bolling, Sr. - 88 of Lakeland passed away Saturday, May 18, 2019 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born January 31, 1931 in Lakeland, GA to the late Colonel Samuel and Reba Bell (Phillips) Bolling. He was affectionately known as “Pa” to his family and close friends. Carl was a member of Southside Baptist Church. Carl started logging at age 14 & continued logging for over 50 years. He enjoyed working in his garden and on the farm. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by brother, Curtis Bolling, sister, Reba Mae Odom and 2 daughters: Diane & Mary Lee Bolling.
Survivors include: Wife of 67 years: Mable Bolling, Lakeland, 4 Daughters & Sons-in-law: Peggy & Clayton Brantley, Lakeland, Penny & Dennis Fender, Lakeland, Kim & Pete Vaggalis, Lakeland, Carla & Wayne Williams, Aiken, SC; 4 Sons & Daughters-in-law: Andy & Doris Bolling, Lakeland, Danny & Dawn Bolling, Lakeland, Jean Bolling, Lakeland, Joel & Lynn Bolling, Lakeland; 23 Grandchildren: Crystal Allen (Davey), Kevin Brantley (Tammie), Keith Brantley, Carmen Bowling (Brandon), Heather Bolling, Brad Bolling (Cortney), Michelle Smith (Hank), Morgan Littleton (Colbi), Michael Fender (Kristen), Christy Bolling, Christopher Bolling (Jenna), Zachary Bolling (Kirstyn), Ashlyn Gyr (Jeremy), Austin Edwards (Chrissy), Zack Edwards (Maegan), Anna Vaggalis, Theodore Vaggalis, Sarah Vaggalis, Erica Hinkins (Donnel), Alexandria Williams, Hanna Williams (Thad), Andrew Williams (Katie) and Carter Bolling; 32 Great Grandchildren; Longtime Friends: Robert & Joy Gaskins, Lakeland, Betty & Dennis Watson, Lakeland and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 21, 2019 in the Southside Baptist Church with entombment following in Greenlawn Cemetery. He will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday evening at the funeral home.
