Carl Francis Joseph Vedas, Jr. – 86 of Valdosta, Georgia passed away in the early hours of Sunday, September 27, 2020 in his home after a lengthy illness. He was born on August 31, 1934 in Norfolk, Virginia to the late Thelma (Scott) and Carl Vedas, Sr. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served in the Korean War. After his departure from the military, he worked for many years as an auto mechanic for Dodge of Valdosta. Carl also enjoyed outdoor photography, traveling, and was an avid motorcyclist. He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist church of Valdosta where he served as an usher. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Kevin Vedas and brothers: John Vedas, Mike Vedas, and Richard Vedas.
Carl is survived by his wife, Ardella Warren Vedas of Valdosta, GA; Sons: David and Cindy Vedas of Valdosta, GA; Jon and Debbie Vedas of Middleburg, FL; Daughter: Felicia and Jerry Pye of Nampa, ID; Son: Martin and Patty Vedas of Valdosta, GA; 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2020 @ 3:00 PM in the Poplar Springs Cemetery of Berrien County, Georgia.
