Carl M. Stone Jr.

Carl M. Stone, Jr. – 75 of Valdosta passed away Sunday, April 19, 2020 in the comfort of his home. He was born May 31, 1944 in Nashville, GA to the late Carl M. & LeeElla (Simmons) Stone. He graduated from Berrien County High School in Nashville, GA and served his country in the United States Army. He lived in Nashville, TN for many years returning to Georgia as a lifelong Tennessee Vols football fan. As a young man, he loved playing baseball and golf. Carl spent over fifty years in the auto industry pursuing his passion for cars, the thrill of the sale and the challenge of owning a business. He loved helping people and loved serving his community as the proud owner of Carl Stone Auto Sales in Valdosta, GA. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Wendy McConnell Carney; his brother, Alton Stone and his sister, Neida Walker.
Carl leaves behind a loving family, including his wife of 37 years, Sandra Sirmans McConnell Stone; his children, Daniel McConnell and his wife, Katie McConnell, Greg Stone and his wife, Marybeth Stone and daughter, Teresa Stone Craig; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery in Lakeland, GA and a public memorial service will be planned at a later date. No live streaming will be available.
