Carol Bryant Eads � 67
Of Valdosta, passed away Friday evening, April 16 at Langdale Hopsice House after a lengthy battle with cancer, which she fought with the same quiet grace with which she lived her life.
Born in Buckhead, GA on June 20, 1942 to the late Wyman Jasper Bryant and Eula Mae Rogers Bryant, she was educated in the Atlanta public schools and attended Trevecca Nazerene University. A former resident of Quitman and Palmetto, GA, she and her husband, Rev. E. Don Eads, served churches in Georgia and South Carolina for over 30 years in music ministry before becoming house parents at the Georgia Baptist Children�s Home. It was there that this elegant lady�the wife, sister, and mother-in-law of full-time ministers of music�made her own mark in service for Christ as she ministered to nearly a generation of kids at the Palmetto campus. She was avid gardener who loved spending time with her grandchildren�her own and those dozens she claimed as her own from the Children�s Home. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Quitman.
In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Sara Bohler Bryant.
Survivors include her husband, Rev. E. Don Eads of Valdosta; her daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Andy Daughtry of Hahira; four grandchildren, Clay, Seth, Josh and Caroline Daughtry, all of Hahira; her sisters and brother-in-law, Joanne and Bill Webb of Albany, GA, and Wynette Bryant of Clarkston, GA; her brother and sister-in-law, Barry and Marcia Bryant of Calhoun, GA; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Eldridge and Tommie Jean Eads of Monterey, TN; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 19, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Quitman with Rev. Marty Carnes and Rev. Andy Daughtry officiating. Private family graveside services will be held. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Sunday, April 18, 2010 at the funeral home.
