Carole Hicks, age 66, of Valdosta, Georgia passed away Monday morning, August 29, 2022 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born in Moultrie, Georgia on December 2, 1955 to the late Myrtle Annie Griffin Hicks and Jack Elwood Hicks. Carole had many talents. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and most of all playing the piano, bass guitar and singing. Carole started recording albums at the age of ten. For many years she traveled with her family, The Hicks Family Gospel Singers, playing piano and singing. Her family also recorded several albums. She really loved southern gospel music. She also enjoyed being a hairstylist and selling insurance. Carole was a devoted and faithful member of Moultrie Church of God. She loved and adored her family, but God was first in her life. Along with her parents, Carole was preceded in death by her grandparents: Elbis and Albert Hicks, and Annie and Tommy Harrison.
She is survived by a daughter, Julie Quintana and husband Felix of Valdosta, Georgia; a son, Jeffrey Terry of Valdosta, Georgia; six grandchildren: Sidney Carrol (Elizabeth) of Madison, Florida; Hallie Terry of Valdosta, Georgia; Trisha Nance of Valdosta, Georgia; Daniel Quintana of Miami, Florida; Gabriel Quintana (Eddie) of Miami, Florida; and Jonathan Quintana of Miami, Florida; five great grandchildren: Clark, Emily, Danny, Sawyer, and one on the way, Charlotte; a sister, Faye H. Schramm and husband Keith of Etowah, North Carolina; and father of her children, Jack Terry of Moultrie, Georgia, and several nieces, nephews and cousins and also her best friend for many years, Mary Jo Dale of Adel, Georgia; and her fur baby, Lacy.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 3, 2022 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 pm at Music Funeral Services. Kind words and expressions of sympathy can be left for the family at
