Carolyn Elaine Delk Strickland Cloney Ranallo – 79
Of Blakely, Georgia passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023 at Early Medical Center in Blakely, Georgia. She was born on December 21, 1943 in Lanier County, Georgia to the late George Washington Delk and Verlie Mae (Stokes) Delk. She worked as a Fire Inspector at Moody Air Force Base many years before she retired. She enjoyed sewing, traveling, and spending time with her family. Her faith was strong and one thing she wanted to hand down to all is to “Always walk the Jesus Way, life is too hard without Jesus in your heart. To my grandchildren, I leave you my love always and want you all to know how proud I am of each and everyone of you”. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her late husband, Charles E. Cloney; sister, Pam Delk; brother, William Delk; sister, Doris “Dot” Young; brother, George E. Delk.
Survivors include her husband of 10 years, Martin H. Ranallo of Blakely, Georgia; son, James D. Strickland (Sheila) of Blakely, Georgia; daughter, Tammy Storey (Craig) of Blakely, Georgia; son, George C. Strickland (Amber) of Blakely, Georgia; grandchildren: Brandy Strickland, Mallory Middleton, Joshua Storey (Kim), Hannah Strickland, Will Strickland (Brooklyn), Mason Strickland, Ayla Grimes and Astyn Grimes; brother, Larry Delk of Homerville, Georgia; sister-in-law, Melitta Delk of Valdosta, Georgia and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 in the chapel of Music Funeral Services, Valdosta. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at the funeral home. As per her wishes, following the service she will be cremated and buried in Riverview Memorial Gardens, Valdosta, Georgia at a later date. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 501 College St, Blakely, GA 39823.
