Of Valdosta, GA formerly of Johnson City, TN passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at her daughter's residence surround by her loving family. She was born on September 17, 1936 in Johnson City, TN to the late Jesse W. and Clostie "Flossie" Jestes. She loved spending her time reading and sewing. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Mason George, her brothers, Dallas Jestes, Edward Jestes, Bruce Jestes and her sisters, Joyce Simpson, Sylvia Workman, Edith Beard and Agnes Perkins.
Survivors include her Daughters, Susan McCurry of Johnson City, TN, Annie & Chuck Higgins of Valdosta, GA; Son, Joey George of Johnson City, TN; 6 Grandchildren, Carolyn Barnette Carlo-Andre Rapalo, Jessee McCurry, Joe Lee George, Christol George, Colby Higgins, Chase Higgins; Great Grandchildren, Shayla McCurry, Skyler McCurry, Bently Holtzclaw, Ward Rapalo and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 4, 2017 in the Monte Vista Cemetery in Johnson City, TN. Messages of sympathy may be expressed online at www.musicfuneralservices.com . The George family is being cared for by the compassionate and caring staff of Music Funeral Services.
