Carolyn Hunter Weeks

Mrs. Carolyn Hunter Weeks, aged 78, of Valdosta, passed away Friday evening, September 4, 2020.
She was born August 12, 1942 in Berrien County, Georgia, the daughter of the late Ethridge and Myrtle Lee Ray Hunter.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband of 22 years, John I. Weeks, Sr.; two brothers: Carlton Hunter and Donnie Hunter; two sisters: Mary Evelyn Hunter and Sylvia Jean Hunter.
She was a member of the Church of Nazarene and worked for many years at SGMC in labor and delivery. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Carolyn is survived by a son, John I. Weeks, Jr. of Clyatteville, Georgia; a daughter, Virgina W. Skiles of Clyatteville, Georgia; four grandchildren: Courtnay Yelverton (Jamie) of Clyatteville, Georgia, Will C. Skiles of Rockville, Maryland, John Skiles of Clyatteville, Georgia, Phylicia Skiles of Naylor, Georgia; three great grandchildren: Layla Griffin, Storri Miller, and Koe I. Marcatos; one sister, Edith Howard of Covington, Georgia. Also survived by Sister-in-law, Diane Hunter of Atlanta, Georgia, and special aunt, Mrs. Brenda Blanch Ray of Lake Park, Georgia. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Mrs. Weeks also wanted to make mention of two very dear lifelong friends, the late Mrs. E.J. Sutton and Mrs. Linda Faircloth Sellers.
Funeral services will not be conducted due to the current COVID-19 crisis. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Valdosta, Georgia.
