Catherine "Taffy" Price

Dr. Catherine “Taffy” Price – 73 of Valdosta, Georgia passed away on Saturday October 17, 2020 in the South Georgia Medical Center. Catherine was born on November 30, 1946 in Valdosta, Georgia to the late Catherine (Garbutt) and Brooker Blanton. She was a professor at Valdosta State University. She served as the Department Chair for Secondary Education and Instructional Technology. She graduated from Valdosta State University, University of Georgia, and Florida State University. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Terry Blanton Fender and Son-in-Law, Dr. Christopher Hendry.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, George T. Price, Sr. of Valdosta, GA; Daughter, Brooke Price Hendry of Macon, GA; Son, George “Tom” Price, Jr. and wife, Jessica of Valdosta, GA; Grandchildren: Alexis Blanton Hendry and Thomas Finnegan Price; Brother, Charles Brooker Blanton, Jr. and wife, Missy of Jacksonville, FL; A number of nieces and nephews.
Services for Catherine will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday October 24, 2020 in Christ the King Episcopal Church of Valdosta, Georgia. The family would also like to invite friends and other family members to a celebration of life held at the Price Cottage in Lake Octahatechee two weeks from Saturday. CDC guidelines for social distancing will be followed, and masks will be required at both services. Messages of sympathy can be left at www.musicfuneralservices.com . In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Christ the King Episcopal Church (101 E Central Ave, Valdosta, GA 31601) and Blanton-Price Scholarship for Instructional Technology Students at Valdosta State University.
