Charlene Ward Breuil, 88
Of Hahira, Georgia, passed away at her son's residence on Saturday, March 8, 2025, after a period of declining health. Charlene was born on March 8, 1937, to the late Lamar Graham in West Green, Georgia. Mrs. Ward was a deeply devoted and beloved member of the New Covenant Church, where she faithfully served as an usher and played an integral role in the church’s hospitality team. Her servant's heart was evident in everything she did, always ready to lend a helping hand and extend kindness to others. Charlene took great joy in caring for her family, friends, and community, always going above and beyond to ensure others felt loved and supported. Her passion for gardening and cooking was well known, as she poured her creativity and nurturing spirit into both. Whether it was cultivating vibrant flowers or preparing delicious meals, Charlene had a natural ability to create beauty and warmth wherever she went. She often shared the fruits of her labor, lovingly prepared dishes. For 23 years, Charlene and her late husband Conner were the proud owner and operator of Exotic Gardens, a local gem she transformed with their vision, dedication, and expertise. The business flourished under their leadership, and they built lasting relationships with customers who became like family. Even after the business changed ownership, Charlene remained a valued part of the team, continuing to contribute her knowledge and passion for another eight years, ensuring the legacy they built lived on. Above all, Charlene cherished her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother. Her love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren knew no bounds, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Whether it was sharing stories, teaching them life lessons, or simply enjoying their company, Charlene’s heart overflowed with pride and joy for her growing family. She is preceded in death by her parents, three husbands: Horace Joiner, Conner Ward, and Jack Breuil; daughter, Thelma Ruth “Cricket” Johnson; and grandson, Glen Teston. Survivors include; Sons and Daughter in law; Andy Ward (Robin) of Hahira, Georgia; Patrick Ward of Brooks County, Georgia; Derick Ward of Hahira, Georgia; Grandchildren: Candice Braddy (Matthew), Kristopher Ward (Dawn), Kyle Ward (Katie), Kasee Bates (Daniel), Samuel Ward, Josiah Ward, Glenda King and Stacey Teston. 18 Great grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 11, 2025, in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services.
