Charles Arthur Calhoun, Sr. – 69
Of Valdosta, GA lost his courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at the Lakehaven Nursing Home. He was born on July 10, 1947 in Cuthbert, GA to the late Charlie R. and Inez Reynolds Calhoun. He retired as an over the road truck driver after over 40 years of service. He enjoyed driving his truck and seeing the country side through his windshield. Charles loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Charles Calhoun, Jr. and a brother, Charlie Ross Calhoun, Jr.
Survivors include his Loving wife of 47 years, Trudy Calhoun of Valdosta, GA; Daughter & Son-in-Law, Misty Calhoun & Joey Jarvis of Valdosta, GA; 3 loving Grandchildren, Chad Calhoun Valerie, Chase Calhoun, Jessica Jarvis; His precious Great Granddaughter, Gracie Stone; Sister & Brother-in-Law, Betty Jo & Harvey Turner of Cuthbert, GA; Brother & Sister-in-Law, Hal & Bonnie Calhoun of Ochlocknee, GA; Fur Baby, Chewie and a number of nieces & nephews
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 27, 2016 in the Little Ochlocknee Baptist Church, 7856 GA Hwy 188, Ochlocknee, GA with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Calhoun will be placed in the church 1 hour prior to services. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday evening, August 26, 2016 at the funeral home.
