Charles Leroy Chauncey, 73 of Lakeland, GA, passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday, September 14, 2024. Born in Homerville, GA on January 6, 1951, he was the beloved son of the late James and Leila (Monk) Chauncey, Sr.
Charles devoted his career to the construction industry, with his most recent tenure at Cook Portable Buildings. His passion for the outdoors was evident through his love for fishing and hunting, activities that brought him immense joy throughout his life. Known for his cheerful spirit, Charles also had a fondness for indulging in his favorite treat—ice cream.
Charles is remembered fondly for his dedication, his love of nature, and his infectious enthusiasm for life's simple pleasures. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in life by his sisters: Peggy Bennett, Ruby Lee Bentley, Mrytle Exum and Mattie Molder and grandsons: Raymond Ganas, Jr. and Kenneth Ganas.
Survivors Include: 3 daughters & sons-in-law: Tammy Dalton (Ruel), Lakeland, GA, Cheryl Royals (Roy), Lakeland, GA, Tracey Gentry (Billy), Oldsmar, FL; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brother: James Lester Chauncey, Jr., Douglas, GA.
