Of Valdosta GA, passed away April 17, 2013 at his residence after a lengthy illness. Mr. Hipps was born January 1, 1937 in Fitzgerald GA to the late Rev. John and Cora Nash Hipps. Mr. Hipps served in the United States Army for 4 years. After that he joined the United States Air Force and served his country proudly for over 24 years. He devoted over 28 years to serving his country. Following his retirement from the military he worked with Civil Service and retired again after 20 years. Mr. Hipps was an active Shriner, Mason and a member of the American Legion and New Season Church of God. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Charles Duane Hipps, brothers, Robert, James, Johnny, and J.W. Hipps and sisters, Mae Thomas, Eva Belle Parsons and Virginia A. Dorsey.

Survivors include: Wife, Linda Faye Fowler Hipps, Valdosta, GA; Daughter and Son-in-law, Gina and Frankie King, Clyattville, GA; Son, Robert Hipps, Valdosta, GA; 7 Grandchildren; 3 Great Grandchildren; Sisters, Annie Livingston, Macon, GA; Several Nieces and Nephews; Special Friend, Michele Taylor with Grace Hospice and 3 Furry Friends: Tucker, Paco and Sally

Funeral Services will be held Saturday April 20, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with Rev. Maxie Williams and Rev. Tracey Hipps officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens where full military honors will be rendered. The family will receive friends Friday April 19, 2013 from 6:00 P.M till 8:00 P.M. at Music Funeral Services in Valdosta. Sympathy may be expressed online at www.musicfuneralservices.com .
