Charles Michael Kitlasz

Charles Michael Kitlasz, 82, of Ray City, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Langdale Hospice House in Valdosta. He was born on September 15, 1942, in East Orange, New Jersey, to the late Charles Peter Kitlasz and Helen (Mason) Kitlasz.
Charles dedicated 15 years of his life as a correctional officer at the Valdosta State Prison, where he earned the respect of his colleagues and made a lasting impact. After retiring from his career in corrections, he continued to serve the community, working for the Lowndes County Board of Education as a school bus driver, a position he took great pride in and truly enjoyed.
A lover of the outdoors, Charles had a deep passion for hunting and fishing. In his younger years, he was an avid fisherman, spending countless hours on the New Jersey Shore, a place that held a special place in his heart.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Charlene Kitlasz of Ray City, Georgia; daughter, Teresa Kitlasz (Lonnie Collier) of Lake Park, Georgia; sister, Elaine Mary Viggiano (Fred) of Long Beach Township, New Jersey; nieces and nephew: Veronica Viggiano, Theresa Viggiano, Kathryn Nappa (Frank) and Frederick Viggiano, Jr.
