Of Lakeland, GA passed away Friday morning, November 14, 2003 in Hillsville, VA from an apparent heart attack. He was born in Grady County, GA and had lived in Lanier County, GA most of his life. Charles was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the U. S. Marine Corp. He worked 34 years in Textiles. He was retired from Amoco Fabrics & Fibers in Nashville, GA and presently Plant Manager of Wayn-Tex, Inc. located in Hillsville, VA. Charles was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Lakeland, GA.

Preceding Charles in death were his Father & Mother-In-Law F. D. and Kay D. Wilkerson, Stepfather, Clifford Lawhorn and one brother, Edwin Phillips.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm Monday, November 17, 2003 in the Chapel of Music Funeral Services in Lakeland, GA. Burial will follow in Good Hope Cemetery, Naylor, GA.
