Charles Havord Roberts Sr

Charles Havord Roberts, Sr. – 90 of Valdosta, Georgia passed away on Sunday February 28, 2021 in the Assisted Living Community, Fellowship Home at Brookside. He was born on February 3, 1931 in Barney, Georgia to the late Della Mae (Sweat) and Henry Havord Roberts. He owned and operated Home Materials, Inc. in Quitman for over 50 years. Charles was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Quitman for many years and held the title of music director, as well as deacon and elder. Most recently, he enjoyed worshiping at The Porch Community Church. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wives: Eunice Roberts and Sandra Roberts; Son, David Roberts; brothers, Gene Roberts & James “Punk” Roberts; half-sister, Vonnie Godbold and half-brothers, Ralph Hiers and Phillip Hiers.
Survivors include his children: Vikki and Mike Jenkins of Valdosta, GA, Chuck and Sheila Roberts of Valdosta, GA; Grandchildren: Jonathan “Jock” Jenkins, Savannah Roberts and Madison Roberts; Great grandchildren: Kyler Lee Jenkins, Jastyn Kahne Jenkins; Sisters-in-law: Linda Roberts of Quitman, GA, Bernice Roberts of Valdosta, GA; Half-brothers: John Hiers (Martha) of Lakeland, GA, Herbert Hiers of Lake Alapaha, GA;
A memorial service will be held at 5:30 PM on Thursday, March 4, 2021 in The Porch Community Church, 4381 Forrest St. Ext., Valdosta, Georgia. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers please make donations to ACTO for Alzheimer’s, 1207 Williams St., Valdosta, GA 31601, where he volunteered every Wednesday, for over 4 years.
