Charles Eugene Sheffield, Sr. – 80
Of Valdosta, GA passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his loving family after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. He was born on November 11, 1935 in Valdosta, GA to Clarence and Catherine Herndon Sheffield. Charles was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church. He was Ordained a Deacon, Lee Street Baptist Church where he was also the Sunday School Superintendent and a Sunday School Teacher for many years. Charles began his career with Mr. L.O. Smith at Smith Motors Chrysler Plymouth Inc. In 1961 and continued for over 40 years. He retired in 2000 selling the dealership after 20 years of ownership. Charles was an avid fisherman and loved riding his motorcycles. He enjoyed fishing daily at Ocean Pond Fishing Club where he was a longtime member and past President. Charles was also a member of Ole Spokes motorcycle club and rode in the Annual Toy Ride each year in Valdosta. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Burton and Billy Sheffield and one sister, Margaret Smith.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens.
