Of Lakeland, passed away Thursday, March 4, 2010 in the South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born March 27, 1950 in Lanier County, Georgia to the late Wilbur and Alberta Downing Bailey. He worked with the Lanier County Sheriff’s Department for 15 years in many areas but primarily as a dispatcher and jailor. He later worked with the Nashville Police Department as a dispatcher and retired due to health. He loved the outdoors especially hunting and fishing. He is preceded in death by 2 sisters, Evelyn Jones and Linda Browning and 3 brothers, Raymond Bailey, Wilbur Bailey, and Jimmy Bailey.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 7, 2010 in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial following in Fender Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, March 6, 2010 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
