Of Hahira passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2007 in South Georgia Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born on December 1, 1929 in Berrien County to Patience Simmons Miley and the late Charlie Jones Miley. Mr. Miley retired from the United States Marine Corps after serving 28 ½ years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 13, Veterans of Foreign War, Frances Lake Golf Club, Northlake Golf Club. After his military retirement he worked and retired from the Georgia Department of Labor as a Disabled Veterans Counselor.
Survivors include:Daughter, Andrea Causey, Hahira, GA, 4 Sons & Daughters-in-law, Thomas & Brenda Miley, Hahira, GA, Ed & Kaye Miley, Lakeland, GA, Charlie W. & Laura Miley, Jr., Homestead, FL, Robert J. & Jennie Miley, Hahira, GA, 7 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren, Sister, Mabel Roberts, Lakeland, FL
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, November 30, 2007 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens where full military honors will be rendered. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, November 29, 2007 at the funeral home.
