Charlie Bob Mullinax – 79
Of Naylor, GA passed away on Monday, March 23, 2015 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on April 13, 1935 in Dixie, Brooks County, GA to the late Edgar L. and Verna Powell Mullinax. He grew up and went to school in Quitman, GA. He was a member of the Good Hope Baptist Church and he served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Charlie was an active member of the Lakeland Masonic Lodge 434 where he served as the Chaplain. He was also a member and served as Chaplain of the American Legion Post 336, Lakeland, GA, The Shriners, VP Association, and Peace Officers.He spent his best years working with the Valdosta Police Department among the best friends a man could have. He was at the height of happiness working during these years where he retired in 1992 as an Investigator with the Valdosta Police Department. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Eddie Mullinax Carney.
His survivors include Wife of 62 years, Jenny Mullinax of Valdosta, GA; Son & Daughter-in-Law, Glen & Michelle Mullinax of Lake Park, GA; Son, Charles Buzzy Mullinax of Valdosta, GA; Son & Daughter-in-Law, Jim Ed & Tasha Mullinax of Naylor, GA; Daughters, Bonnie Mullinax Hogue and Bill Hogue, Sr. of Lakeland, GA, and Linda Ann Mullinax of Naylor, GA;
15 Grandchildren; 19 Great Grandchildren; and Brother & Sister-in-Law, Joe & Glenda Mullinax of Quitman, GA.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00PM on Wednesday, March 25 2015 at Gateway Baptist Church with burial to follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Quitman, GA. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Valdosta Music Funeral Services on
