Charlotte Marie White David, 55, of Lake Park, Georgia passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023, in Valdosta, Georgia. Charlotte was the beloved mother of Brandon de León. She was born in Marietta, Georgia on December 15, 1967, the daughter of Harry Edward White and Mary Gale Chadwick White. She has been a resident of the greater Valdosta area for over 35 years.
Charlotte was proud of her overseas service in the U.S. Army at Fürth, West Germany and being a Clinical Psychology graduate alumnus of Valdosta State University. She continued her life of honorable service as a proud and devoted mother, Senior Social Worker for the State of Georgia, and published author. She enjoyed writing, reading biographies, psychology, sociology, natural spiritualism, and spending time watching nature on her balcony with her dear cat.
Besides her son Brandon, daughter-in-law Elizabeth, and faithful companion Molly she leaves her sister Laura, younger siblings Joe, Chad, Suzy, and Elizabeth, second mom Ginny, nephews Evan and Austin and many more beloved aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, great nieces and nephews, and cousins.
She thought Ernest Hemingway had the perfect poem for this moment:
Best of all (s)he loved the fall,
the leaves of yellow on cottonwoods,
leaves floating on trout streams,
and above the hills,
the blue windless skies,
…Now (s)he will be part of them forever.
Charlotte wished to have a small private family memorial gathering. She will be interred at the Georgia National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, she would have preferred you to donate to your charity of choice, pay forward acts of kindness to those in need, and reach out to your loved ones more often.
