Cheryl Ann Bingham, born April 18th, 1959, in Camden, New Jersey, went home to be with her LORD, May 11th, 2026, at home in Valdosta, Georgia.
Cherri, as everybody called her, devoted her life to education. After graduating from Southeastern University in 1981, she taught students from elementary school through college. She was a dedicated and caring professional who poured herself into her work — even if, every now and then, there were a few students she would have loved to "set straight."
Cherri was dedicated to serving the LORD through her local churches. She was an intercessory prayer leader and followed Christ as close as she could. Cherri stayed so close to the LORD in church that if somebody whispered, 'prayer request,' she was already halfway through the intercession before they finished the sentence. She married the love of her life, Joseph Bingham, for 28 years.
Cherri loved movies, especially her Hallmark love stories. I mean, how many times could you watch the Christmas stories? She also loved playing the accordion, which was bigger than her.
Cherri is preceded in death by her mom, Dorothy Solino; her father, Richard Counts; her stepfather of 44 years, Augustine Solino; and her sister-in-law, Lora Counts.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Bingham; her children, Richard Bender III, Ronald Bender, and Faith-Shere Bender; their spouses; and her eleven grandchildren, whom she loved deeply and who loved her dearly. She is also survived by her two uncles, Ralph Ross and William Ross, of Sussex, New Jersey.
She led monthly prayer booth events at the local fairs and markets. Praying with anyone who needed prayer. She taught Sunday school and had her own youth center, where she discovered her husband Joe could hang drywall and had other hidden talents. She has been a Sunday school director, children's director, and Barnabas team leader. Cherri and Joseph worked as house parents at Rodeheaver Boys Ranch for 3 years.
