Chesley Larry Warren, age 81, of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 8, 2024, at The Orchard after a lengthy illness. He was born in Hahira, Georgia, on February 2, 1943, to the late Chesley and Stella (Moore) Warren.
Larry attended the Hahira Church of God and Lake Park Church of God, where he found solace and strength in his faith. His love for God and family was evident in all aspects of his life. A true lover of the outdoors, Larry spent countless hours fishing, finding peace by the water and enjoying the natural world around him. He also had a passion for raising pigeons and tinkering with his Volkswagon.
Music was another of Larry’s great loves, and he delighted in singing and playing gospel songs. His musical talent and unwavering spirit were an inspiration to those who knew him.
Larry dedicated over 30 years of his life to Clearview Cable, now known as Mediacom, where he worked as an installer and chief electronic technician. His hard work, expertise, and dedication to his craft earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Warren.
Survivors Include: Daughter & Son-in-law: Robin Wetherington and Dan Deaver, Valdosta, GA; Step Son & Daughter-in-law: Chris & Tina Brisson, Waukee, Iowa; Step Son & Daughter-in-law: Dustin & Amy Brisson, Summerville, SC; Brother & Sister-in-law: Lafon & Shirley Warren, Georgetown, FL; Sister: Marilyn Hancock, Valdosta, GA; Granddaughter: Chesley Anne Wetherington; Step Grandchildren: Andrew Deaver, Amanda Brisson, Ansley Lawlor and Emma Brisson; Special Friends: Dave McCoy, Jodi Stalvey, Barbara Nichols & Carolyn Bell and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, January 10, 2025 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with the Rev. Frank Gupton officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services.
