Chester Lee Roy Brooks

Chester Lee Roy Brooks, 73, passed away Tuesday January 20, 2015 after a lengthy illness. He was born on August 9, 1941 in Rose Hill, Virginia to William Lee Floyd Brooks and Roxie Johnson Brooks. He served in the US Army as a Helicopter Crew Chief from October 1958 to February 1962 and is a Korean War Veteran. He drove for North American Van Lines for 3 1⁄2 yrs. and then went on to drive for Greyhound Bus Lines until he retired in 1992, for a total of 23 yrs.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years Annie Pearl Pollock Brooks of Valdosta, GA, Three daughters: Nancy Ann Morrison of Valdosta GA, Donna Sue Bozeman of Thomasville GA, Judy Lynn Duda of Palm Coast FL. Three son-in-laws, Jack Morrison of Valdosta Ga, Alton Bozeman of Thomasville GA, Jim Duda of Palm Coast FL. Nine grandchildren: Charlene Davis of Pataskala Ohio, Micheal Mills of Valdosta GA, Robbie Groves Jr. of Thomasville GA , Jason Groves of Thomasville, GA, Eric Groves of Thomasville, GA, Amber Duda of Valdosta, GA, Matthew Duda of Newark, Ohio, Jessica Duda of Newark, Ohio, Abbagayle Duda of Palm Coast FL. Eleven Great Grandchildren: Caitlin Davis of Pataskala Ohio, Hunter Groves of Thomasville, Ga, Lynzi Groves of Thomasville, Ga, Ansley Groves of Thomasville , Ga, Erikka Groves of Thomasville, GA, Dallas Bozeman of Thomasville, Ga, Logan Baxter of Thomasville, GA, Ashtyn Anderson of Valdosta, GA, Luke Duda of Newark, Ohio, Emma Anderson of Valdosta, GA, Hailey Duda of Newark, Ohio. His mother in law Mrs. E.E.Pollock of Valdosta, GA., Four sister in law's: Juanita Sauls of Clyattville, GA, Lorine Folsom of Valdosta, GA, Debra Pollock of Valdosta, GA, Aleatha Brooks of Quitman, GA. Four brother in law's: Lamar Pollock of Valdosta, GA, Ted Sauls Sr. of Clyattville, GA, Eugene Pollock of Valdosta, GA, James Folsom of Valdosta, GA, Several nieces, nephews, cousins, from Valdosta, GA, Quitman, GA, Moultrie, GA, Rose Hill, Virginia. An Aunt and Uncle in Chattanooga TN, Wilburn and Lilan Brooks, An Aunt in Rose Hill, Virginia, Gracie Payne, and a Cousin in Rose Hill, Virginia, Patsy Sowders.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. in Benevolence Baptist Church Cemetery, 3692 Old Clyattville Rd Valdosta, GA 31601. The family will receive friends Friday January 23, 2015 from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family has requested that no flowers be sent due to honoring Mr. Brooks' wishes.
