Christell Peters Gibbs

Christell Peters Gibbs, 85 of Ray City, Georgia passed away, Sunday, November 28, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her family. Christell was born September 9, 1936, in Nashville, Georgia to the late Ruth Joyce Peters and Henry Peters. She was a homemaker and a member of New Bethel Baptist Church, where for many years she served on numerous committees, but her heart was serving as the Benevolent Committee Chairman, making sure families were served meals in times of need. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Raymond Gibbs, Sr.; a sister, Nell Peters and a brother, William Peters.
She is survived by her daughter: Mary Ann Watson, Winter Haven, Florida; son: Charles “Ray” Gibbs, Jr., Ray City, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law: Robin (Andy) Ward, Hahira; son and daughter-in-law: Chad Gibbs (Candi), Ray City, Georgia; grandchildren: Shannon Moore, Candice Ward (Matthew), Jarrod Watson (Lisa), Kristopher Ward (Dawn), Kyle Ward (Katie), Jessie Gibbs (Derek), Teresa Barnhill (Chris), Chariot Kemp (Chris), and Payton York; a sister, Jeanette Parker, Valdosta, Georgia; twenty-six great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 o’clock AM, Wednesday, December 1, 2021, in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services. Burial will follow in Cat Creek Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends, from 5:00 until 7:00 o’clock PM, Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at the Music Funeral Services, Valdosta, Georgia.
