Of Valdosta, passed away early Tuesday morning October 03, 2006 in South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta after a brief illness. Mr. Jones was born July 21, 1928 in Gurdon, Arkansas to the late Andrew and Susie Jones. He served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict War. He was a member of Azalea Masonic Lodge # 716, a charter member of Fellowship Daylight Masonic Lodge # 746, the Hasan Shrine Temple in Albany, GA, and Calvary Baptist Church in Lake Park. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson Vincent Clay Jones, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.

Survivors include: Wife, Patricia Jones, Valdosta, GA, 2 Daughters and Sons-in-Laws; Janet and Frank Smyth, Charleston, SC, Juanita and John Baker, Folkston, GA, 3 Sons and Daughters-in-Laws; Stryde and Cathy Jones, Lakeland, GA, Trey and Sarah Jones, Valdosta, GA, Jason and Patti Jones, Valdosta, GA, 12 Grandchildren; J.C. Smyth Chupack Scott, Steven Jones, Taarna Jones, Kaitlyn Jones, Madison Jones, Aliceson Jones, Kamryn Jones, Abby Jones, Zack Jones, Lauryn Jones, Marris Jones, and Reagin Jones, Sister, Mable Ball, Clarksville, AR, Mother-in-Law, Clora Mae Fussell, Valdosta, GA, Special Aunt, Myrtie Cummings, Valdosta, GA and a number of other relatives.

Funeral Services were held at 11:00 A.M Thursday, October 5, 2006 in the Calvary Baptist Church in Lake Park, GA with burial in Riverview Memorial Gardens in Valdosta, with Rev. Carlton Allen and Rev. Ronny Taylor officiating. Masonic and Military rites will be conducted at the graveside. He was carried to his home 3633 Deerwood Rd. Valdosta, GA for the family to receive friends Wednesday, October 4, 2006 from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M..
