Clarence “Midge” Watson Jr., age 85, of Nashville, GA, passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday, May 2, 2026. He was born on June 27, 1940, in Lanier County to loving parents, L.C. and Lena Watson.
Midge lived an honorable and well-lived life, defined by his deep love for his family and unwavering dedication to those he held dear. He was a devoted protector, provider, and supporter—a hardworking man who led by example. His strong faith guided him throughout his life, and he was truly God-fearing in both word and action.
For 44 years, Midge gave his time and commitment to B-Way, demonstrating loyalty and pride in his work. He dedicated many years to serving in the United States Army. Outside of his career, he was a passionate and longtime supporter of Lanier County High School sports, cheering on his community for decades with enthusiasm and pride.
The family would like to extend a special and heartfelt thank you to Belinda Branch for her compassionate caregiving and support.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Greg Watson; mother of his children, Mary Hall Watson; grandson, Sean Watson; brothers, James “Dump” Watson, Robert “Buke” Watson, Dewayne “Buddo” Watson and sisters, Mary W. Royals, Dorothy Warren and Barbara Watson.
Midge is survived by his daughter, Lena Dale “Sissy” Watson of Nashville, GA; sons, Kenny Watson of Lakeland, GA and Will Watson of Lakeland, GA; daughter in law, Lynn Watson of Douglas, GA; grandchildren, Rhett Watson (Haley), Brandon Roberts, Grier Trowell (Clay), K.C Watson (Tori), Chess Watson, Kerri Meeks (Taylor), Harlee Craft (David) and Elle Watson; great grandchildren, Cuyler Kade Copas, Emersyn Layne Watson, Lennon Brooks Watson, Elliott Wilder Watson, Wrenley Trowell, Madilyn Nash Watson, Noah Tucker Watson, Magnolia Drew Watson, Sadie Adams, Rhett Adams and Scarlet Robert, Mary Alyse Spikes, Mac Craft, Livi Craft, Arabella Hughes, Charlie Meeks, Maddux Meeks, Callum Meeks; sisters, Marie Gyr of Naylor, GA, Betty Carolyn Faulkner of Lakeland, GA, Linda Faye Donaldson of Nashville, GA and brothers, Dennis L. Watson (Betty) of Lakeland, GA and Willie Lee “Bill” Watson (Ruthie) of Naylor, GA and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Services will be held at 10:00AM on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Poplar Springs Church. A visitation will be held the night prior at Music Funeral Services in Lakeland from 6:00pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, May 4, 2026. Burial to follow the service at Empire Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made out to Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church- Springs Church Rd. Nashville, GA 31639.
