Claudie Virginia Stone Ward

Claudie Virginia (Stone) Ward – 81, Of Valdosta passed away on Tuesday, July 09, 2019 at Berrien Nursing Center after a lengthy illness. She was born on January 16, 1938 in Nashville, GA to the late Olin & Nellie Mae (Williams) Stone. Mrs. Ward retired from Nashville Textiles as a shipping clerk after over 24 years of service. She was a member of Lakeland Baptist Church. She also worked in the children’s daycare at Moody Air Force Base where she received the Angel Award 2 separate times. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: John W. Ward; 2 brothers: Grady Stone and Floyd Stone and sister: Shirley S. Vickers.
Survivors Include: Son & Daughter-in-law: Donnie & Judy Ward, Valdosta; 2 Sisters: Gladys S. Luke, Nashville, Marvine S. Mathis, Nashville and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, July 13, 2019 in the Lakeland Baptist Church with burial following at Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday evening, July 12, 2019 at the funeral home. Sympathy may be expressed online at www.musicfuneralservices.com .
