Clayton (Clay) Matthew Briley, 32, of Worth County, Georgia went to be with his Heavenly Father on December 21, 2018. He was a former resident of Athens, Alabama.
A memorial service will be held at Wesley’s Chapel, United Methodist Church located at 4740 TN-128, Savannah, Tennessee on Sunday, January 6th, 2019 at 1:00 p.m.
Clayton was born July 24, 1986 in Birmingham, Alabama, the son of Ronnie Briley and Jana (Barrett) Briley. He grew up in Alabama, and moved to Georgia in 2014 to marry his sweetheart, Candace Powell. Clayton was an excellent cook and worked in the restaurant industry for many years. Fishing was one of his favorite things to do. Clayton will be remembered for his kind heartedness, generosity, sharp mind and quick wit. He was devoted to his family. He loved them dearly and they were the focus of his life.
Clayton was preceded in death by his father, Ronnie Briley, and grandparents David and Una Briley.
Clayton is survived by his wife, Candace (Powell) Briley; infant son Clayton Matthew Briley Jr.; step-daughters Annabelle Leigh Porter and Willow Erin Porter; his mother and stepfather, Jana (Barrett) Briley and Donald E. McCarty; brother, Barrett Briley (Becca); grandparents Doris and Dr. Charles E. Barrett, and numerous nieces and nephews.
