Mrs. Cleo Louise Kapilla, 93, of Valdosta, GA passed away peacefully on Monday, October 23, 2023, at Pruitt Health - Hospice of Lake haven. Cleo was born on June 16, 1930, in Iuka, IL to James and Pearl Farthing Anderson. She was united in marriage to Clifford Andrew Kapilla on June 7, 1952, in their home state of Illinois. He preceded her in death in October of 2014. They were happily married for over 60 years.
As a devoted Christian, Cleo and her family were active members of St. John's Lutheran Church in Ocala, Florida for many years. After moving to Valdosta, Georgia in 2016, Ms. Kapilla continued to worship regularly at Northway Community Church.
Cleo graduated from college and worked as a public and private school
teacher for a number of years in Ocala, Florida. She was always a positive, caring person who shared her love for learning. Cleo was a patient wife and mother and inspired those around her, especially her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Cayla A. Armatti of Anchorage, AK; son, Camm (Lydia) Kapilla of Sparks, GA; two granddaughters, Andrea (Josh) Huguley of Naylor, GA, Olivia Anne Armatti of Blairsville, GA; three grandsons, Will Danforth, Alley (Stephanie) Danforth, Marah (J.R) Eaton; and 10 loving great grandchildren.
