Of Valdosta passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2009 after a lengthy illness. She was born on January 14, 1921 in Echols County, GA to the late Mose Walton & Carrie Lee Westberry. She was a devoted member of Grace Baptist Church. Mrs. Carter worked at Kiddie Korral Daycare for 18 years and then with Elec-Tec for 17 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Ralph Carter, a son, Jimmy L. Carter; 2 brothers, Owen Corbett and Lamar Westberry and 2 sisters, Beatrice Harrell and Paige Pelham
Survivors include:Sons & Daughters-in-law, Ricky & Kay Carter, Valdosta, GA, Larry & Levenia Carter, Quitman, GA, Kevin Carter, Adel, GA, Keith & Jo Carter, Naylor, GA, 14 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren, Sisters, Gladys Hendley, Valdosta, GA, Shirley Skiles, Valdosta, GA
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, January 30, 2009 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in Carter Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, January 29, 2009 at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or please make a donation to Hospice of South Georgia, 2263 Pineview Drive, Valdosta, Georgia 31602.
