Curtis “Tony” Dasher, 71, of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away peacefully at Lake Park of Madison Nursing and Rehabilitation of Madison, Florida on Saturday, August 23, 2025, after a lengthy illness. He was born on April 22, 1954, at the Pineview Hospital in Valdosta, Georgia, to late parents, Roy Hansel Dasher Jr. and Louise Pierce Mathis Dasher.
Early in his career, he worked with Electrolux. Later he dedicated many years to working with Taylor Insurance Company before switching over to finish out his career at Transamerica.
He was honored as the “Boy of the Year” in 1971 by the Valdosta Boys Club—a recognition that reflected his early character and leadership. A proud graduate of Valdosta High School, he remained a devoted supporter of the Valdosta Wildcats throughout his life. His love for Georgia sports extended to the Georgia Bulldogs, who held a special place in his heart.
Tony had a deep love for people and a gift for bringing them together. He found joy in entertaining and cooking, whether it was for family gatherings or his beloved church community. His warm hospitality and generous spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
A lifelong and faithful member of Forrest Park Church of Christ, Tony lived his faith through service, kindness, and unwavering love for others.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his half-brother, Morris Dasher; in-laws: Owen and Louise Padgett; brother-in-law, John Padgett; sister-in-law, Denise Padgett Okolichany.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Debra “Debbie” Dasher; son, Dustin Anthony Dasher (Ashley) of Valdosta, GA; three grandchildren, Anthony Dasher, Alexa Rose-Marie Dasher and Eli Dasher; sister, Cindy Sams (Jeff) of Forsyth, GA; brother-in-law, Ted Okolichany, Lake Park, GA; nephew, Matthew Okolichany(Kacie); 3 nieces, Amber Carter (Zack), Megan Okolichany and Erin Dasher Adkerson (Adam).
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 28, 2025 in the Forrest Park Church of Christ, Valdosta, GA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church.
