Dallas Sapp Jr., 94
Of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away on January 22, 2025, at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born in Quitman, Georgia, on November 30, 1930, to the late Donald William Henry Dallas Sapp Sr. and Mary Sapp. Dallas had a deep love for fishing, racing, and enjoying golf cart rides with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cherishing those moments spent with family. He was a devoted member of Forrest Park Church of Christ, finding great joy and purpose in his faith. Professionally, Dallas was a skilled autobody repairman, having worked at Quitman, Langdale Ford, and Smith Motors, where he earned a reputation for his craftsmanship and dedication to his work. He served with distinction at the Georgia Department of Corrections, where he earned the title of the longest-living and working correctional officer at the time. With over 20 years of dedicated service, he played a pivotal role in maintaining safety and order within the system, becoming a respected and integral part of the department's operations. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Barbara Sapp, and a grandson, Christopher Todd. Survivors include: Daughter, Pam Sapp of Valdosta, Georgia; Son and daughter-in-law, Mike Sapp (Charlene) of Valdosta, Georgia; Grandson, Michael “Scotty” (Lauren) of Brunswick, Georgia
Great-grandchildren: Layla Sapp, Lilly Sapp, Skylie Sapp, and Brody Sapp. Eleven siblings. Numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Forrest Park Church of Christ with a private interment at Riverview Memorial Gardens.
