Of Valdosta passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born on February 9, 1954 in Corpus Christi, Texas to the late Claude R. Grimes and Marie Grimes. Mr. Grimes served 8 years in the United States Navy before working with Civil Services for 27 years and finally retired in June 2007. He was Baptist by faith. He is preceded in death by his brother, Bernie Grimes.
Mr. Grimes was survived by hisw wife, Denise Grimes, Valdosta, GA, Daughter & Son-in-law, Lisa & Gene Kelley, Ocoee, FL, Son, Kevin Grimes, Nashville, TN, 2 Grandchildren: Jordan Kelley and Jacob Kelley, Brother, Gary Grimes, Pensacola, FL, Several extended family members
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, April 3, 2008 at Music Funeral Services in Valdosta, with Graveside services being held at 2:00 PM CST Saturday, April 5, 2008 at Pensacola Memorial Gardens. With the family receiving friends from 1:00 until service time in Pensacola. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Bethany Hospice, 2517 Bemiss Road, Suite D, Valdosta, GA 31602.
