Darius Thieme, 86, passed away Monday February 9, 2015 at the Fellowship Home, Valdosta, GA. He was born on July 1, 1928 in Poughkeepsie, NY. He was a professor at Fisk University in Nashville, TN. He was a member of the Society for Ethnomusicology, and played for the 7th Army Symphony. He was preceded in death by his parents Brainerd Hosier and Tabea Hofmann and a son Richard Darius Thieme.
Survivors include: Son: Donald Thieme Hanae Kanno and granddaughter Erica Kanno Thieme, Former Wife: Mary Stevenson Thieme; Panama City, FL.
As per his wishes he will be cremated and Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Trinity Presbyterian Church.
