Darrell Lyn Luke - 57

passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at home with his wife Susie at his side. Darrell was born on April 24, 1956 to Jack and Clisteen Luke, both preceded him in death. Mr. Luke graduated from Tift Co. High class of '76. In 1980, he joined the Air Force; serving 10 yrs. He later worked with satellites and as a robot technician in Canada. Later coming back home to Tifton, he graduated from and became director of Crossway Program at Brother Charlie's Rescue Mission. Darrell's love for that mission never died, it was always close to his heart. Darrell was also ordained to work in the Gospel ministry in 2005. Darrell then had an opportunity to work with homeless in Orlando, Fl. where he met several dear friends; who helped him through a rough spot. He never forgot them and spoke often of his time there. In his final years he came home to help take care of his dear mother who had never given up on her loving son through all of his trials.

Survivors include: Wife, Susie Long- Luke, Valdosta, GA; Son, Daniel Luke, Slidell, LA; Grandson, Linus Luke, Slidell, LA; Sister, Lisa McFall Chris Hemenway, Marietta, GA; Niece, Meghan McFall, Newnan, GA; Step-Children: Melissa Sellers, Valdosta, Ga, Mandy Erwin, Valdosta, GA, Alan Latourette , Pensacola, FL; Step- Grandchildren: Arianna, Loralie, Willow, Xander, Raelynn, Kyndall ; His loving dog, Harley

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 7, 2013 at Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors Chapel, 1020 Tift Avenue North, Tifton, GA with the Rev. William Lowry officiating. Burial will follow at Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to services on Friday. A special thank you to all of the staff at HHC at Crestwood for their love and support. Smith Northview for their wonderful care that they provided. United Hospice's Nurse, Jo Eanes for her understanding and love shown to Darrell's family.
