David Chesemore, 89, of Lakeland, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. Mr. Chesemore was born on February 18, 1936, in Richland Center, Wisconsin to the late Albert Chesemore and Bessie Chesemore Schwebke.
Mr. Chesemore retired with 22 years of service in the U.S. Army. He served in Korea and Vietnam Wars. After retiring from the Army, he enjoyed a long career in truck driving all over the U.S. He loved traveling and enjoyed doing things for his family. Mr. Chesemore was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church.
Mr. Chesemore was married to Vita Fender, and they just celebrated their 26-year anniversary in June.
Mr. Chesemore was proceeded in death by his parents; sister, Christina Morris; stepson, Ronnie Fender; and a step-grandson, Josh Browning.
Survivors include his wife, Vita Chesemore; stepdaughter, Elaine Sherrod pf Nashville, Georgia; stepdaughter in-law, Gwen Fender of Naylor, Georgia; sister, Joyce Terpstra of Belvedere, Illinois; sister, Karen Ford of South Dakota; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to American Legion Post 336, Lakeland, Georgia or Langdale Hospice House, 2263 Pineview Dr, Valdosta, Georgia 31602.
