David Earl Collins – 66
Of Valdosta, Georgia passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 after a short battle with cancer. He was born on December 10, 1957 in Casablanca, Morocco (Africa) to the late Earl Collins and Dollie Jeanette (Lodge) Abrigo. David worked in maintenance as an electrician with Valdosta State University. He loved his wife, sons, and grandchildren. Fishing, hunting and outdoor adventures was his passion. He was a very outgoing person who had lots of friends. David was very much a family man and never met a stranger. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Justin E. Collins; granddaughter, Christ T’Anna Collins; father-in-law, Robert E. Schwartz, Sr.; step father-in-law, Robert Boggs, Jr.; brother, Dennis Collins and his sister, Vivian Lee.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa “Terri” Collins of Valdosta, Georgia; son, Jason Collins (Samantha Sinclair) of Fitzgerald, Georgia; grandchildren: Joshua Collins, Bryce Hendricks- Collins, Beau Collins, Jaxson Collins, Aerianna Sumner and Layla Sinclair; brother, Donnie Collins of Cotton, Georgia; mother-in-law, Marjorie F. Boggs of (Lake Park, Georgia), now Port St. Lucie, Florida; brother-in-law, Robert E. Schwartz, Jr. (Leigh Anne) of Statham, Georgia; sister-in-law, Robin S. Eason (Chip) of Port St. Lucie, Florida; brother-in-law, Craig Mercer of Tallahassee, Florida; sister-in-law, Nicki Mercer of Memphis, Tennessee; a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews; special mention, cousins-in-laws: Gary Griffin (Deborah) of Braselton, Georgia;
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 29, 2024 in the chapel of Music Funeral Services, Valdosta. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at the funeral home.
