David Alvin Conine, 75, of Lakeland, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at the Fellowship Home at Brookside. Born on August 15, 1949, in Valdosta, Georgia, he was the son of the late James Chester Conine and Elizabeth Ruth (Nix) Conine. David enjoyed a distinguished career as a Financial Planner with Cannon Financial Strategists of Georgia and was widely recognized for his passion as an avid University of Georgia fan.
David was a dedicated and cherished member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Watkinsville, Georgia, where his commitment to the community was evident through his many roles. For years, he lent his voice to the choir, imparted wisdom as a Sunday School teacher, and meticulously managed the church's finances as Treasurer. Beyond his formal duties, David had a deep passion for cooking, and his culinary talents shone brightly during the church’s annual “Chicken Mull” event, where he took great pleasure in preparing this beloved dish. His contributions to the church and his warm, generous spirit left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 40 years, Faye Beth (Hinesley) Conine, as well as his parents.
Survivors include his sister, Nancy Genese Conine of Lakeland, Georgia; special nieces: Amanda Giddens of Lakeland, Georgia, Christa Shaw (Sam) of Lakeland, Georgia and Lydia Cone (Dusty) of Lake Park, Georgia; sister-in-law, Judy Allison of Watkinsville, Georgia; numerous other nieces, nephews and extended family members.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, September 6, 2024 in the Chapel of Music Funeral Services, Lakeland with Rev. Dub Music officiating. The burial will follow the service in Greenlawn Cemetery, Lakeland, Georgia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Friday, September 6, 2024.
