David Lee Lightsey - 64
Of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, November 10, 2024. He was born on February 15, 1960, in Lakeland, Georgia, to the late Homer Lee Lightsey and Annie Laura Register Lightsey.
David proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for eight years, where he worked as an intelligence operations technician. His dedication and commitment during his military career were hallmarks of his character. Following his time in the service, David found success in the technology industry, working with HP and Dell, where his skill and expertise in computers earned him the respect of his colleagues.
Outside of work, David was a man who cherished his time with family. He especially loved camping, and his adventures took him and his loved ones to many beautiful places, both near and far. He had a great fondness for outdoor games like bean bag toss and putt-putt. David was also of the Baptist faith.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Annie Laura Lightsey, as well as his siblings: Howard Lightsey, Ruby Carolyn Conner, Debbie Kluyber, and Jeff Lightsey. He was also preceded by his brothers-in-law, Jere Norville and Ed Hill; nieces: Jessica McCranie and Laura Beth Reichel
Survivors include his children: Lee Lightsey, Jr. (Kim) of Griffin, Georgia, Shea Lightsey of Wasilla, Alaska and Sara Lightsey of Wasilla, Alaska; granddaughter, Brooke Lightsey; step children: George, Jamie, Nikki, Reyes, Sam and Kaz; sisters: Betty Ann Norville of Valdosta, Georgia, Pat Pitts (Jimmy) of Valdosta, Georgia, Jeannie Hill of Toronto, Canada, and Janice Logue (Don) of Valdosta, Georgia; brother-in-law, Larry Conner of Lake Park, Georgia; nieces and nephews: Kim Thomas, Laura Duffy, Chris Norville, James Conner, Michael Anselmi, Brandi Pratt, December Adams, and Jason Conner.
