Of Lakeland, Georgia passed away September 28, 2006 in Louis Smith Memorial Hospital after a battle with cancer. He was born in Lowndes County, Georgia to the late Kenneth and Winnifred Smith. He lived most of his life in Jasper, Florida before moving to Lakeland in 2002. Mr. Smith was a truck driver by trade and was Baptist by faith.

Funeral services were held Sunday, October 1, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services. Graveside services were held at 4:00 p.m. in Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper Florida. Bro. Terry Ford and Rev. Bryan Layton will officiate.
