David Leland Stalvey

Of Ray City passed away Sunday evening, June 29, 2008 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born in Hahira, Georgia on January 13, 1956 to John Leland and Margaret Sirmans Stalvey. He was a farmer all of his life and worked with the U.S. Postal Service since 1981 as a rural mail carrier. He served as the Interim Pastor of New Bethel Baptist Church near Barretts, Georgia. He was a Member, Deacon and Sunday School Teacher at First Baptist Church Ray City. He was preceded in death by his Father-In-Law Carl Jackie Giddens and Granny Inez Myers.

Funeral Services will be held 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2008 in the First Baptist Church Ray City, with burial following in Beaver Dam Cemetery. The Rev. John E. Patten and Rev. Lee Graham will be officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 1, 2008 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Flowers accepted or offerings may be made to the Building or Cemetery Fund First Baptist Church of Ray City.
